Swatch Policy--

We know that sometimes you need to see the exact color of a fabic, or feel it to know if it will work. Swatches are the fabric stores answer to that problem. Swatches are small pieces (normally around 1" x 2") that we can provide. On large prints, you will only get a portion of the total design, but when you combine that with the pictures and info on our website you should have a pretty complete picture. We can send you up to 5 swatches at no cost. If you are interested, use our handy swatch request form.

Our fur monster watches over us, making sure that nothing bad happens to our fur.

This page has all of the longer fake furs on it. These fake furs are all over an inch.

Patterns and solids, bright and natural looking... its all here.

But we have lots more fur for you.

  • Plush fabrics -- cuddly and fuzzy, shorter than these furs...
  • Shorter Fake Furs furs-- shorter fake furs, solids and prints....

    • The fake furs are not returnable. If you are trying to decide between a couple of different furs, why not ask us for some swatches. We can send you up to five swatches at no cost. They are big enough to get a feel for the texture and a better idea of what color it is. Just use our Request Form .

    Note: There is a 1/2yd minimum cut for each fur. After that you can buy in 1/4yd increments. Orders under 1/2 yard will automatically be increased to the minimum.

    3/4= .75

    When you are all done, find the little "buy" button near the bottom of the page and press it. This will start the ordering process.

    A note about colors!

    We have spent a lot of time choosing swatches that appear to be close to the actual color on our screen. The color YOU see is affected by 3 things--
  • your screen-- things like age, and color balance
  • your environment-- if you are sitting by a window, if you have natural light, if you are in a dungeon
  • your vision-- Color is a very subjective thing. It is influenced by things around it as well as your interpretation of it. 8% of males, and 1% of females (myself included) are at least partially color blind (many don't even know it). Use the color swatches as a guide. Remember we can send up to 5 swatches at no cost so you can see the real deal. Just use our handy Request Form .

    Two-Toned Shags- These furs are the same lenght and texture as the shag fur but have a contrasting base color. The long hairs are about 2 1/2". 60" wide, $22.98/yard

    Punky Muppet--This fur is a medium length shag. The fur is 1" long. It is very soft with a chaotic (in a good way)look to it. This fur has lots of personality, where as the shag looks like monster (in a good way, of course)fur. $24.95 per yard

    Long Seal--This is a really beautiful beautiful, very dense fur. It is smooth and silky like the seal furs, but a bit longer.

    Shaggy Punky Muppet- This is a special deal fur we got. Longer than the punky muppet, but shorter than the shaggy mongolian-- available only in light pink! 60" wide, $24.95/yd

    Shaggy Mongolian- This is a very shaggy shag (if that makes sense!). This fur is softer than the shag, but not as smooth. It is similar in texture to the punky muppet fur but longer. 60" wide, $26.95/yd

    Peppermint Frost- This is one of my favorite furs. The base is white with a medium length hairs that are in twisted little bunches. The tips are frosted with red. Because it is a light dusting of color, the red leans toward the pink side, but it is definately red. This fur makes me want to go to the corner store and buy a bunch of those Starlight Mints! 60" wide, $24.95/yd

    Fox- These are really luxurious furs with a dense, short, lower pile and longer top furs. This is a beefed up shag. The top furs are about the same length as is in the shag, but this fur has short dense under pile that makes this fur much fuller than the shag. 60" wide, $35.98/yd

    Green Warewolf- This is a super stringy, slightly crimped fur. It comes in 2 shades of green-- either a lighter avocado green with mottled background, or a darker spinach green

    Husky-This is about the length of the cubby bear but denser. The base and pile are a light tan. The highlight furs are a bit longer than the rest. They start out white at the base and finish up black. 60" wide, $32.95/yd

    Swamp Monster--This is a short fur with a dense olive green base. As the fur gets closer to the tip it morphs into a light tan. Sprinkled in are some longer, slightly shiny black furs. Over all this fur looks brownish. But when it moves the green peeks through adding in another dimension. $32.95/yard 60" wide

    Pink Frizz-This fur has a dusty pink base fur. The shiny black hairs are stringy and scattered about. On this fur the black hairs are an accent fur so you see lots of the base color.

    Hair Plug Fur-This fur has a base pile that is black. It is short and soft. Then there are longer white furs in clumps. (think hair plugs gone bad) The short furs are about 1/2" long, the long ones are just over 2".

    Monster Hair Plug-These furs have a base pile that is short and soft, with longer contrasting color furs that are in clumps. The short furs are about 1/2" long, the long ones are just over 2". $32.95/yd

    Hi-low shag This fur has a very soft shorter base pile with wisps of longer furs in the same color. The longer furs are about 1 1/2". It reminds me of when you get a fresh haircut and they miss a couple of hairs.

    Zebra-finch- This is a beautiful fur. The base furs are a bit shorter than the cubby bear-- about 3/4". The accent furs are kind of hair like in black and white striped. When this fur moves the longer hairs flutter in the wind like feathers on a finch. $24.95 per yard

    Tipped Fox-- This is one of the more realistic looking furs with lots of color variation. Available in 2 versions. The Snowy tipped fox starts out with a white and very light grey base color. Some of the longer furs end with a black frosted end. The midnight tipped fox has a deep midnight black base with with frosting of light taupe and off white. The longest furs are about 2" long.

    Blonde Fox This is a really beautiful "natural" looking fur. The base is white. Then the furs melt into a reddish tan color and then end in a light dusting of black. $35.98 per yard

    Long Haired Cat Have you ever seen a long haired cat that is in desperate need of a grooming? They aren't quite at the matted stage, but very unkempt. That is this fur-- like the shag but messier. It is available in one color-- orange marmalade. 60" wide, $26.95 per yard

    Grey Frost Teddy Bear-This fur is just over an 1" long. The base is a dark grey, the pile is a lighter grey. Very similar to the black frost shag in coloring, but this one is shorter and denser. $29.98 per yard

    Ocelot- This is a really luxurious fur with a beige base. The markings are a caramel color, which blends to brown and then is outlined with a very dark brown almost black. The really beautiful thing about this fur is that it has some longer "stringy" hairs. 60" wide, $32.95/yd

    Stringy Leopard This is a beautiful leopard fur with a rusty brown base and jet black markings about an 1" big. It has a soft base fur which is shorter and then longer tawny brown hairs. 60" wide, $32.95/yd

    Stringy Mongolian fur--This is a long stringy shag fur that is a bit crimpy. It only comes in white $27.98

    Frosted Stringy Mongolian fur--This is the frosted version of the stringy mongolian fur. The accent hairs are all white crimped. The base fur is a short contrasting color. $32.95

    Brown Tipped Stringy- This is a long string fur that starts out as an ivory color at the base. The last 1/3-1/2 of the fur is tipped in a dark brown. This is similar in texture to a fur we had in the past called warewolf. 60" wide, $32.95/yd

    		Need lots of little pieces, but don't care what they are? When we discontinue furs (or when they are disontinued on us!) we end up with lots of little extra swatches. We cram these into a sandwich size ziplock bag and sell them. People who work with kids, or make puppets, or collage-a-holics love these! These are bags of assorted swatches-- no picking or choosing (sorry)

    Pound of Fur Squares
    		Are you craving an assortment of fur? At the end of the roll, we are often left with smallish pieces which won't stay rolled. We cut these into squares (rectangles actually). Each piece is about 13" x 12". Sometimes they are narrower and longer. Sometimes they are long skinny "tails". In this assortment you will get a pound of assorted fur pieces-- the equivalent of about 3/4 yard of fur if you pieced them all together (which might look a bit odd...) You will get assorted furs-- no picking or choosing (sorry). These fur squares may be any of the furs on our website. If you are buying other fur, we will TRY and choose ones which you did not purchase-- no promises though.

    What is a swatch? A swatch is a small piece of fabric about 1" x 3". It can help you decide if a certain fabric will work for your project. You can use it in the same way you use one of those paint chip papers you get a the hardware store. It gives you an idea of what the fabric looks like, and you get to feel the texture. We try our best to describe the fabrics well, but somethings are difficult to put into words.

    		This set has just the animal print furs that we carry. You will get one swatch of each fur along with a price sheet for these furs. There are close to 30 swatches in this set.     Solids-- This set is just the solid basic furs that we carry. Some of the furs included in this set are: shag, plush, seal, fox and cubby bear. Some of the furs such as the cubby bears are multi-tonal but overall they are a solid fur. You will get one swatch of each style along with a list that details the other available colors. There are about 25 swatches in this set. The set is $10.00 (which includes shipping within the US. If your order is being shipped to another country additional shipping charges will apply).

    Novelty--This set has the fancy, whimsical, over the top furs that we carry. If you are looking for the extraordinary furs, this is the set for you.     Custom Swatch setIf you have very particular requirements, we can create a custom swatch set for you. For $10.00 we will put together a set of up to 20 swatches which meets your specifications.
